Welcoming Ramadhan…
Ramadhan is the ninth month in the Islamic Calendar.
It is among the three sacred months in the Islamic Calendar. It is believe that it’s during this period that the Muslim Holy Book, “ Al – Quran Kareem” was revealed.
During this period, Muslims around the globe stay away from sex, food, water, drinks, etc from dawn to dusk.
Ramadhan is usually preceded by the sighting of the moon of Ramadhan. Muslims, during this period fast for 29 or 30 days.
Every Muslim except lactating mother’s, nursing mothers, the sick, the Traveler, etc are exempted from fasting.
The Quran, the Muslims Holy Book is recited frequently during this period.
In most communities Muslims meet at a safe place either in the day or nights to listen to sermons from the Sheikhs & Ustaz or Mallam (Islamic Teachers).
