Color sorting letters.

Practice colors and letters together with this preschool activity from No Time for Flashcards. All you need is a printable rainbow (Download here https://bit.ly/3Fc96ma), some colored label stickers and a marker. Use the marker to write one letter on each circle sticker. Give the child the sticker sheet, and instruct them to peel off each sticker, say the letter and stick it onto the part of the rainbow with the matching color. This helps little ones work on letter recognition, color discrimination and fine motor skills.

THE EDITORIAL.

Teaching at the KG is both interesting and stressful. Interesting when you love the job, but stressful when you were 'dumped' there.

Research has shown that most of the Facilitators in most of our KGs where sent there Not because they love the KG but because 'that was where their services were needed'.

Teaching at the KG cannot be compared with any level in the Academic System. The KG teacher is the master of all.

You are expected to teach everything on the Time Table. You are also required to teach the children Inter - personal skills, manners and etiquettes, etc.

You are not a KG teacher if you come to school well dressed and go back in the same form.

Teaching at the KG is indeed interesting and stressful. Let us, respect the KG Facilitator.

HOW TO TEACH COLLABORATIVE SKILLS IN LEARNERS.
How to teach Collaboration as a skill?

But What is Collaboration or Collaborative Skills?

Collaboration skills , also called collaborative skills, are the skills you use when working with others to produce or create something or achieve a common goal. Collaboration skills aren't a skill set in themselves, but rather a group of different soft skills and behaviours that facilitate collaboration and teamwork.

Collaboration is one of the chief skills or competencies that every Ghanaian child should posses after completing the Standard Based Curriculum.

Collaboration is also a 21st Century Skills which every Child or Adult must possess.

There are several ways we can teach Collaboration Skills among our learners. Below are just few steps you can take to build Collaboration Skills among learners.

THE EDITORIAL

Time to Ease the Tension.

The KG department is the most hit department in the implementation of the Standard Based Curriculum.

Whiles all others including the KG are crying for the lack of resources to implement the programme, the KG Facilitator is handicapped in this entire exercise.

This challenge may be blamed on the implementors of the Curriculum.
Unlike the primary school, the KGs are to teach all the disciplines in an amalgamated form.

As a matter of urgency, the various training officers, NaCCA, MOE and the GES to organise refresher courses for all KG Facilitators.
In addition, all the materials needed to teach at the KG should be supplied to all schools.
It is only this, that can guarantee a better future for our education and Future Leaders.
