Simple Steps to Teach Grammar
There are various ways of teaching Grammar. In this piece you shall identify simple, practical and effective method of teaching Grammar.
Teaching English sometimes poses challenges to Facilitators. But, "Using Dialogue" is a simple but practical method of teaching English Grammar.
Dialogue is a teaching Techniques which allows learners to communicate between and among themselves using short sentences.
Language is best understood when used in Communication.
Let us look at the examples below:
Ama: Hi!
Kwame: Hello!
Ama: It's been a while.
Kwame: Yes my sister. I am just on my way to the market.
Ama: Ee! What for?
Kwame: I am going to buy fish, meat, tomatoes, pepper, onion, garden eggs, palm nut, ......
Ama: It is seems your Mum will be cooking Palm Nut Soup and Fufu.
Kwame: Hahahaha
The teacher used the above dialogue to introduce and explain 'Comma'.
Use the information from the Dialogue to teach the Aspect of the Language you want to teach.
You can try creating and using dialogue to teach Grammar in your schools and lessons.

THE EDITORIAL
The Skills we Neglect.
Most people have the opinion that schools should not be blamed when children are not able to perform simple social skills.
They believe that since school prepare learners for life, then skills such as washing, cooking, bathing, brushing of teeth, etc.
Fortunately, most of these social skills have been included in the Curriculum.
Facilitators should as much as possible look for other social skills which have not been included in the Curriculum, and include them in their Schools Curriculum.
School Administrators/Headteachers should also make it a point to ensure that Facilitators do not neglect the responsibility of teaching children certain Social Skills.
