10 Simple Reasons Candidates Fail in Examinations - AminuWrites.
1. Leave Out Name and Index Number.
Most of the Chief Examiners have shown that most candidates who fail exams do not write their Index Number and Name Properly.
2. Wrong Name and Index Number.
Most of the scripts of candidates who failed the BECE or WASSCE is due to the fact that they wrote their Name or Index Number wrong.
3. Failing to Understand Rubrics.
Most of the scripts of candidates who failed the BECE or WASSCE do not understand the Rubrics to the problems.
4. Answering Questions less than demanded.
Most candidates do not answer questions as expected.
5. Failure to Meet the Examiners Requirements.
6. Use of Long Meaningless Answers.
7. Drawing:
Using pen to draw.
Not using a straight edge or ruler when drawing a line.
Small drawings that cannot be seen.
Wrong labelling.
Crossing lines when labelling.
Using Arrows to label.
8. Direct Lifting.
Most candidates Lift Directly from the Passage/Text.
Especially in English and Ghanaian Language.
9. The Use of 'OR' when answering questions, when one part of the answers is wrong. E.g. What Energy?
10. Writing Points without corresponding Explanation and examples. Most candidates write only points without answering the questions with enough explanations and examples.
